Mobile Phlebotomy Specialist (MPS)

The NPPA Mobile Phlebotomy Specialist is the first credential focused exclusively on the traveling phlebotomist role. Beyond traditional collection skills, candidates are tested on home-draw cold-chain transport, point-of-care testing logistics, HIPAA-compliant mobile workflows, and CLIA-waived lab partnerships. The exam is offered online with live remote proctoring and includes scenario-based items on difficult draws in non-traditional settings - bedbound patients in private residences, pediatric home visits, occupational health screening events, and skilled-nursing facility rounds. Most mobile specialists bill insurance independently or through partner labs (Getlabs, Quest Health, Labcorp At-Home, and Thrivary).
